Dedicatory Recital of new Allen Q325 Quantum

The date is getting closer! Our new Allen Q325 Renaissance Quantum organ is scheduled to arrive and be installed during the month of October and the Worship & Music Committee is now working on events to take place after the organ is “in” and voicing adjustments completed. We hope that everyone will be really excited about this new instrument - what a difference this will provide for our morning worship – not only will we no longer have those irritating ciphers but the sounds you will hear are true samples of beautiful authentic pipe organ sounds! We will also be able to pre-record quiet music prior to the service using chimes and many other delicate stops to provide a quiet meditative atmosphere in the sanctuary prior to the service. We certainly are grateful to those who have pledged their financial support towards the purchase of this long awaited instrument and we continue to ask your prayerful consideration in donating to the organ fund to help reduce the cost to our resources.
We are also in the process of planning a dedicatory recital considering guest artists familiar with this Allen technology who will be able to present an enjoyable and varied program demonstrating the capabilities of the instrument. Shortly after installation we expect to be able to give you a date to put on your calendars for this event! Advent and Christmas programs are also being discussed and of course there will be a variety of festive seasonal music for the Christmas Eve service. We hope that our congregation and those who worship in our facility as well as our neighboring community will plan on and enjoy attending these events – we look forward to establishing ongoing music/arts programs that will enrich our community and encourage ministry opportunities at First.
We do need some volunteers to help plan receptions for these events as well as help with publicity; if you would be willing to assist in either of these areas, please let Cathy or Sharon know – we will also be posting a sign up sheet in the fellowship hall.
